Converted to Mission

Jesus is always on mission, so in order to know him deeply, we must join him on his mission. Our relationship with Jesus will only be as deep as our commitment to His mission. But many of us are as resistant to sacrificing our comfort for his mission as we are in sacrificing our pride for his grace. In this sermon we look at our need to be converted to mission.

Encountering Jesus

Often times Christians have a limited view of their need for the gospel. They know that they once had a need for Jesus in their life, but they forget that they still have a need for Jesus in their life. We need a daily encounter with Jesus in order to live in the good of knowing Him. In this sermon, we look at our need for an encounter with Jesus.

Meeting People Where They're At

One of the most important things Christians can do for the world is to show what the death and resurrection of Jesus has to do with people's real lives. In this sermon, we look at the importance of taking the gospel to people exactly where they're at.

Seeing Glory

The gospel of Jesus often stirs up anger, self-justification, and self-righteousness in the most religious of people. The gospel tells us that all of our efforts to make ourselves right fall short, but that God, out of sheer grace and love for us, has done all that we need through Jesus Christ to make us right. In this sermon, we see the vastly different effect the gospel has on both the proud and on the humble. We also look at what must take place in our hearts in order to receive the good news of the gospel and be forever changed by it.

The Presence of Jesus

In this sermon, we look to the presence of Jesus as the power and grace we need to live everyday life.

The good news is that Jesus is Immanuel, "God with us". God is always and forever with His people, those who have trusted in the Savior. God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. He does not intend for His children to live alone apart from Him. He has given us His presence. His power, love, and joy is constantly ours through faith to aid us as we encounter all of the joys, sorrows, and pains that come from living in a world awaiting final redemption.

Finishing Through Faith

Many Christians know that it is through faith we are saved by Jesus. However, many Christians do not know that it is through faith that we are kept by Jesus. It is through faith that we become and live as God's children. Faith through the word of Jesus is primary to living fruitful lives that bring joy to us, blessings to others, and glory to God over a lifetime.

The Older Brother

Advent is a season where Christians all over the world celebrate the long-awaited promise given by God and kept in Jesus Christ. To draw us near to Jesus this Advent, Charis is studying Luke 15 and the parable Jesus told about a father and his love for his two sons. The father in the story reveals what God is like, while the two sons in the story help us see what we are like. In today's sermon, we examine how the older brother responds to the father's unconditional forgiveness of his repentant son.

The Religious Rejection of God

Many people equate being religious with loving and serving God. Jesus didn't see it this way. Many of His harshest words were for those who appeared the most religious. In this sermon, we look at the differences between religion and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
