“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers…And all who believed were together and had all things in common…And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people.” – Acts 2:42-47
Following Jesus is a community project. The Bible teaches us that we can’t love God if we don’t love the Church, God’s family (1 John 4:20,21). So Community Groups is our way of encouraging love for our brothers and sisters in God’s family. Community Groups are also a great place to come if you are new to faith in Jesus or on your way. Community Groups are meant to be a demonstration of the power of the gospel to transform relationships – through the truth, grace, love, forgiveness, identity and acceptance we have experienced through knowing Jesus Christ.
What can I expect at a Community Group?
• Child care to be worked out among the groups themselves
• Groups to last approximately 90 minutes
• To share joys and burdens with one another
• To help one another apply the Word
• To pray for one another
• To love one another
